Richard is GoodPeople’s CEO, leading on venture design, business development and partnerships
Richard Tyrie is a social entrepreneur who began his professional life as a headhunter working for James Caan in the early 1990s. In 1996 Richard joined one of the UK’s first ‘dot com’ enterprises Taps.com, the UK’s first employment website.
Upon exiting in 1998, Richard set up Jobsgopublic.com, the UK’s first online employment website for the public and third sector, which went on to create technology that revolutionised the talent management process of hundreds of public and private sector organisations.
Richard is a trustee of UnLtd, and also chairs the Awards and Delivery Committee. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and sits on their Catalyst Social Enterprise committee, and also advises the Cabinet Office on the future leadership and skills needs of the social sector.
He lives in south east London with his wife and two daughters, but will one day escape to somewhere with good schools and good broadband near the sea.
